CityX Foundation is rooted in a private family collection dedicated to over 100 years of Ukrainian avant-garde — from the early 20th century to the present day. Its origins trace back to the 2017−2018 exhibition "XA City. Kharkiv Avant-garde" at the National Art Museum of Ukraine, curated by Tetyana Tumasyan, which laid the conceptual foundation for what would later become CityX.
In 2022, with the outbreak of war, CityX.io was launched to rescue and digitize the collection, preserving key works on the blockchain through its first NFT drops.
Today, CityX Foundation is an international platform supporting Fragile Art — artistic practices shaped by cultural transition, vulnerability, and conflict — while expanding its dialogue across physical and digital realms.
