The presentation explored themes of transformation, fragility, and cultural memory, bringing together artists whose practices examine the shifting relationship between the body, identity, and contemporary experience.

CityX’s presentation at Zona Maco brought together artists working across painting, sculpture, and conceptual practice, creating a dialogue around transformation, repetition, and the fragile nature of human experience.

The exhibition highlighted the foundation’s curatorial interest in artists who navigate the boundaries between classical artistic traditions and contemporary conceptual inquiry.

Ukrainian artist Tetiana Malinovska presented works from her ongoing series "Core. Metamorphoses."

The series explores existence through cycles of transformation, examining the idea of the "core" as the primal spark from which new forms continuously emerge. Through layered compositions and fluid structures, the works reflect the tension between chaos and order, vulnerability and renewal.

Malinovska’s practice moves between painting, curatorial research, and philosophical reflection, often addressing themes of memory, resilience, and the evolving role of art in society.

The presentation also included works by Artem Volokitin, one of the leading contemporary Ukrainian painters.

Volokitin’s paintings combine traditional painting techniques with experimental visual structures that investigate perception, light, and the material presence of images. His works often appear almost abstract while retaining echoes of figurative and symbolic forms.

At Zona Maco, CityX presented several works exploring the artist’s ongoing research into light, transformation, and spatial illusion, including paintings from the "Afterimage" and "Abstract Light Water" series.

Latvian painter Julia Silova was presented in collaboration with CUT ART Gallery.

Her work "Semantic Satiation" investigates the psychological phenomenon in which repeated exposure to an image or concept causes it to lose its original meaning. Through repetition of fragmented representations of the human body, Silova constructs complex visual fields that explore perception, identity, and the boundaries of interpretation.

Sculptor Anna Egle presented a series of mixed-media sculptural works that explore the relationship between material, space, and atmosphere.

Her practice merges traditional sculptural craftsmanship with contemporary materials, creating poetic forms that reflect light and transform the surrounding environment into contemplative spaces.
